Looking Forward to Jackson Hole Summer Fun

The ski season is coming to a close and we’re looking ahead to summer 2021 and the return of travel, events and beloved activities that took a break in 2020. To help you make up for lost time, we’re here to show you the best activities for your next summer adventure in Jackson Hole!

Before we get ahead of ourselves, don’t say goodbye to the snow yet!

April 10, 2021 – The Karen Oatey Pole Pedal Paddle takes place in Jackson Hole once again! Come to watch or participate at the race, where contestants compete either individually or in teams. It consists of an alpine ski/snowboard leg, a short running leg, a bicycle leg, and a boating leg.

April 11, 2021 – Closing weekend is a celebration not to be missed! Get in some final runs & après before the official start to mud season, at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, or on the west side of the Tetons at Grand Targhee Resort!

Now more than ever we all need to be outdoors, enjoying the fresh air of the mountains and the peace of the solitude, and making up for lost time! When you come down the mountain, get safely submerged in the many social activities planned for this summer! We’re so ready to welcome back events & activities scheduled for the 2021 summer season – and all things Summer Fun! – but most of all, we’re thrilled to be welcoming YOU back this summer to our favorite Abodes!

The summer season officially commences at Jackson Hole Mountain Resort Saturday, May 22nd, with the operation of the Bridger Gondola.

New this summer, the Sweetwater Gondola will open on Saturday, June 12, in addition to Teewinot Chairlift to expand the JH Bike Park with three new trails and over 1,000 vertical feet of advanced and expert terrain in addition to the classic Bike Park terrain off Teewinot. Via Ferrata opens June 12-October 3 and Disc Golf is starting on May 2021. And as always our mountains will be open for all outdoor activities like hiking, mountain biking, rafting, stand up paddle boarding, fly fishing, dining al fresco, and more!

May 22 – 31, 2021 – The 40th annual Old West Days Celebration in Jackson Hole honors the spirit of the Old West through history, culture, and tradition.

June 19, 2021 – For the art lovers, more than 50 invited artists paint from the National Museum of Wildlife Art’s Sculpture Trail with stupendous views overlooking the National Elk Refuge. All visitors are welcome to watch the painters, and collectors are invited to browse and bid on the fresh artworks. All proceeds will benefit the National Museum of Wildlife Art and participating artists. Also, with award winning artists, and nationally acclaimed antique dealers, MC Presents has something for everyone. Their shows are a unique blend of fine art, and one of a kind antiques, providing something for everyone. They are held in the beautiful, premier resort area of Teton Village, Wyoming. Check the dates here for June, July and August weekends!

July 2 – August 21, 2021 – Music will always bring joy, after this complicated year Grand Tetons Music Festival returns to get everyone dancing! The Festival kicks off with outdoor performances for larger audiences and then returns to socially distanced, indoor performances for six weeks at Walk Festival Hall.

July 10 – September 25, 2021 | Every Saturday, 8am – 12pm – So many activities are available during this time and to keep up with the energy needed we recommend you to go to the Jackson Hole Farmers Market, always a first stop for quality summer ingredients! You will be able to find fresh veggies, local meat, and special treats like honey and cheeses!

May 28 – 30, 2021 – Start revving up this fun summer with the return of the annual The Million Dollar Music Fest, Memorial Day weekend with three exciting nights of headline entertainment on the stage of the iconic Million Dollar Cowboy Bar. The 2021 line-up features Jackson Hole favorites, Midland, Runaway June and Jenny Tolman.

September 3 – 6, 2021 – The Mountain Man Rendezvous is a pre-1840 era Fur Trade re-enactment, where Mountain Men, from all over the west, will gather in Jackson to sell and trade their goods in the finest tradition of Davy Jackson. The rendezvous traditionally begins during ElkFest and continues through Old West Days. Safety continues to be a key concern over the outlined dates, causing some crowd-gathering events to postpone.

We are also looking forward to events like Take a Kid Mountain Biking, JH Food and Wine Festival, JH Ultra Mountain Run 50k, 30k, 20k. We are still anticipating confirmation due the current situation but stay tuned and hopefully we will see you there!
