The current runway at Jackson Hole Airport (JAC) has reached the end of its life cycle and the airport will require a runway closure to both airline and general aviation operations from April 11th, 2022 until June 28, 2022 to continue to meet the required safety standards.

The Jackson Hole airport runway is in need of a full reconstruction which will include a 78-day runway closure. The Checkpoint and Hold Room project will begin on January 19th of 2022 and is expected to be completed by June 28 of 2022, to coincide with the runway reopening. From January of 2022 through April of 2022, travelers will be using a temporary Security Checkpoint equipped with three screening lanes, until the runway closure begins.

Restaurant construction will begin in April of 2022 and is expected to be completed by the end of November of 2022. Interim food and beverage options will be available in a limited capacity, post-security, throughout the duration of this project.

These projects will allow JAC to operate safely and support airline operations while enhancing the traveler experience. Safety, efficiency, and being good stewards to the environment. You can find more information available on the Airport’s website as the project starts and details are developed.

TRANSPORTATION ALTERNATIVES FOR WINTER – SUMMER 2022

Fly into Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) is a 4 hour and 30 minute drive from Jackson. Our concierge can help arrange transportation to & from, stay in PC on your way there or back for a national parks road trip, etc.

Fly into Idaho Falls Regional Airport (IDA) is an hour and 45 minute drive from Jackson.

Book a private chartered flight using Teton Aviation through the Driggs-Reed Memorial Airport (KDIJ) which is 45 minutes away from Jackson.

Flying into Yellowstone Regional Airport in Cody, WY and road tripping through the park down to JH. Our concierge can arrange park tours, etc. The airport in Cody, Wyoming is a 4 hour drive from Jackson. Air service typically includes 2 flights a day year round with United service to Denver and beginning in May, two additional flights with Delta. The airport has a full service restaurant 7 days a week May through September of the year. They are closed on Sunday the month of April.

Driving – Nothing compares to a Wyoming road trip. The Jackson Hole Chamber has many great resources for planning out your perfect road trip through Wyoming.

Because of the natural geography of this town, there are actually only a few roads leading in to the Jackson Hole valley. If you’re driving from points south, west and north you’re probably going to be arriving on either U.S. Routes 191 or 89. If you’re coming into our valley from points west or Yellowstone, you could also drive in over the famous Teton Pass Hwy 22 from Victor, Idaho. Driving to Jackson Hole from the east is the most straightforward. You can come in over Togwotee Pass on U.S. 26 from Riverton, and Casper, Wyoming. The typical route to get here from further east is by taking Interstate 80 to Rock Springs, Wyoming and taking U.S. 191 north 3 hours to Jackson.
